custom avatar?

Am I going nuts? I have been looking for the page to upload a custom avatar for an hour now in the User CP. There is not an option to upload one on the Edit Avatar page. Can somebody lead me the way, or tell me if there is a minimum number of posts required or something?

i don't know...i've always had a custom avatar option...did you just join? maybe you have to have a certain amount of posts or something.
 
Yes, I'm new. That is the only thing that I can think of. I guess I will just have to wait and see.

Joining a forum and not having a custom avatar is like moving into a new house and not having any furniture.

I'm prety sure it's a post rank thing.
As you can see, I had no trouble uploaded a new avtar abotu 10mins ago.

However I know of a new user who couldn't about a week ago.

That must be a new thing from the server upgrades. Give it time, and keep posting.

Over 50 posts now. Still no sign of an option to upload a custom avatar. For now I am a blank blue area. Any other ideas or info. At least I have my banner and smilies.

Can't you use the pre-defined generic avatars? They may not be the perfect ones, but there are several to choose from until you graduate to the next level.
 
I did. My pre-defined avatar is in the list and is called "blank" :) Seriously.

The next level. What would that level be?
 
Try selecting one of the generic avatars, save it, then go back in and see if it allows you to change it to a custom one.

Good idea. I think that's what I did.
 
Just tried it, no luck. There is an avatar called blank, I was serious about that (page 10 of avatars). I tried it a few different times, but the option never came up. Hmmmm
