Current movies very offensive

I saw the trailer for this one....Did anyone see the part where the guy tells the other guy:

"I can't quit you!"

How cheesy. Made gay people look REALLY gay, instead of just normal people-that are gay.

This only offends me because they are forced to speak broken english instead of subtitling it. It completely ruins the mood and overall quality of the film, I mean would Crouching Tiger be as good if they where all forced to speak a language that isn't natural to them? Although it's good to see Orientals getting screen time where they are not flying through the air kicking the crap out of each other, or delivering take-out food.
The reason the Chinese cast is controversial is that they cast Chinese actors to play Japanese characters. It's like when my Mexican girlfriend gets offended when they hire Puerto Rican actors to play Mexican characters.

Personally, I'm offended by the older Japanese businessman shown with the white, blonde hooker. Talk about a stereotype. This stereotype is portrayed in a number of Hollywood studio films (Rising Sun, Turbulence).

The problem occurs when you need to portray racial characters realistically. Many credible Hollywood films often portray black and Latin characters as criminals and gang bangers. If your crime drama story is set in southcentral Los Angeles, that casting choice is appropriate.

well some day we will all be mixed race and then we'll be playing each other........well i guess we already are! but in the meanwhile lets stick with our own kind darn it! french play the french! british play the britts! italians play italians! now wait a minute there's afro britts and french and......there's indian britts and.... gosh darn wally this is really confusing.

well that scene was in the 60s. i thought it was going to be really out haha standing but i was disappointed the writing or the editting was bad
i thought.it wasn't real

the reason behind geisha is there isnt to many high profile japanese actresses. plus this has been done milions of time before making japanese content with other countires actors. heres a list i can remeber

OLDBOY : japanese Manga: Korean movie and actors
INITIAL D: Japanese Magna: Hong Kong film with Chinese Actors both Mainland and Hong Kong.

i could go on but those are widely excepted films. Why are you offended by that? get a life if movies are bothering you so much. you have to throw out about every movie you seen.

i think if everybody reads what konrad says it's the newspaper that said these things not him personally

so King Kong in chains is suddenly black/slavery? thats messed up. I didn't for one second think that. These stupid critics!!!

This always seems silly when people nitpick (not you shooter) about what nationality plays which character. How many times have you seen James Hong play Japanese, Korean, and Chinese characters? No one seemed to care about that, and they shouldn't since he is an accomplished actor and he seems to pull it off well. Since the average Joe can't tell who is "supposed" to be who, it shouldn't matter if a character is cast slightly different than his/her nationality if he/she can actually act.

Just be glad that they generally stopped the whole insane trend of casting non-asian actors as asians (Brando and Montalban).

And don't get me started on Lou Diamond Phillips, he's played just about everything.
