Hi all.
The cloud subscription will not work for me. One NLE doesn't even have a network card and the other is at my house which does not have Internet. I work every day and night so I am in the minority having no Internet or TV. Anyway..

My latest version is CS5 and have A LOT of plugins plus matrox mx02 hardware.
Wasnt planning on upgrading for 2 or more years but now that theyve gone and done this I'm womdering if I need to buy CS6 quick while I can ANC ride it out for several years.

Is there a significant advantage it has that will make it a better choice for the next few years?
I'm using audition 3 since soundbooth is not good.

We are using panasonic AVCHD mostly but also have a Sony NEX EA50u on the way, which can shoot 1080 60p.

This is not cool considering I legally bought CS2, CS4 master collection and CS4 after effects in addition to CS5 production premium since I use a MAc pro and windows OS also.

If you do want to buy CS6, you may not need to rush - Adobe have said CS6 will continue to be sold as a standalone version. i.e, it will remain available alongaside CS7.

Couple of things:

1. You can purchase a year's subscription at a time from resellers. You will need to have Internet access to download and install, but then you're done for the year.
2. CS6 is already miles ahead of CS5, and the new Creative Cloud version will expand that lead further.
3. CS6 has a bug with spanned AVCHD media (clips longer than 20 minutes) from certain cameras. You may want to download the trial to test this before buying.
4. The AVCHD bug has been fixed for Premiere Pro CC. It might be fixed for CS6, but no definite word yet from Adobe on that.

Thanks guys.
So CS6 will still be sold for a while? But how about in the boxed version?
Downloading the whole master collection would not be fun.

I upgraded to CS6 last year when it came out. While I downloaded the software to have it immediately I also spent I think an extra $30 to have adobe send me a disc. For the amount of time it took me to actually receive that disc from adobe I could have downloaded the suite via dial up.

As Jim has said you will have to buy via a resseller. But in a way I am glad for CC ,it has made my mind up to not having 2 NLE packages on my system (adobe and GV Edius), I for one will portest the CC via me spending my money on Edius for now and the near futrue. So As Douglas Adams said "So long and Thank you for the fish"

I've decided to NOT do the 5 to 6 upgrade - I usually skip a version, but this shift by Adobe has made me seriously doubt that I can trust them. Once locked into a regular charge, they can creep it up, and up and you are stuck. If business gets tight - you cannot stop, and that for me is too risky. You suddenly cannot earn income. I cannot run my business like this, the peaks and troughs get deeper and steeper all the time. CS5 is paid for - and there are people who have say CS3 - and don't upgrade because their own workflow doesn't require it. The silence from Adobe has been deafening!

well if say true - CS6 is so much better then cs 5.5...... i had 5.5 version for over a year and never even done there anything ...... PP was too complicated to me (coming from corel), but CS6 i bought an upgrade and using it now.... its faster, more intuitive, accepts new codecs - for example there were no sound on 1080 60p (not a slow motion) from my af100 when i put it on cs5.5, but now it works on cs6. i think i can live with cs6 for a long time now..... with out any need to pay for an upgrades .... who cares about their subscription.....

It seems Adobes Shares are at a low for a month now , since the CC was announced ...... hope this makes Adobe change their mind.
