like the title says, as im editing in cs5 everything looks fine, i get things color corrected, and then when i render the video, it is over exposed. ive had this problem with multiple projects. this is really annoying and there has to be a way to fix it. i just want to render out exactly what i see in the playback window, if anyone could help i would appreciate it alot.

I just want to render out exactly what i see in the playback window...

What is the playback window being displayed on? Is it a Rec 709 or Rec 601 device? Or a computer monitor? If it's a computer monitor, that could be your problem. Even a calibrated computer monitor won't display video information correctly if that video is being rendered for output to DVD or blu-ray, unless the monitor can display the correct working space.

A number of people seem to be using a two monitor setup -- a computer monitor for all the controls, and an HDTV for the playback window. And they're doing it for just the reason you state. Of course, if you want to "do it right" then you need a production monitor instead of just an HDTV. But then you're heading into real money...

i figured out the issue, it was the quicktime player. when i play the video with the divx player it looks fine, just the way it looked in premiere.

I get that crap all the time....Quicktime will show it one way, VLC will show the clip as being extremely washed out, and Windows Media Player will shows it perfectly (go figure). Best bet is to trust the Premiere window and be done with it.
