Cross-Atlantic HVX Compatability Nightmare

Hi,

I'm shooting a documentary in L.A. imminently and really need more than one camera so that we can get everything covered. I own an HVX-202 which I will bringing with me. I am going to shoot in 720/25pn.
Now, in order to have another camera, the footage from which I'll be able to intercut with mine, it would have to be able to shoot 25.
I was hoping to rent a camera out there to save a lot of extra money and hassle but obviously I can only shoot 24 with that.
And I take it that if I used the frame rate hack on a rented NTSC HVX to get it to 25 frames I wouldn't be able to record sound with it?
So, at the moment it seems I'll have to rent a PAL HVX from London before I go and have it for the whole time which'll cost me upwards of £1600...

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Much appreciated.

There probably aren't many HVX200E or HVX202 units out here, but if there are, perhaps VER has some? www.verrents.com.

If worse comes to worst, just shoot 24pN on a rented US unit, and convert to 25fps in post. It won't make any difference of any magnitude.

Sorry this is little off topic, but ...

I see that is a Robinson R44 chopper, how did you experience the flight, did it feel stable and safe?

thanks,
Derrick
