crime scene test with dvx/sgpro

I liked it. I agree with u on the look of the DVX. HD just looks 2 sharp and fake/plastic for my liking sometimes.

Pros:
Nice colour grading. how was it done....in cam or post
Music fit it
I liked the look for the MOST part

Cons
Image is overall a bit 2 soft for me
I wud never have know it was a crime scene if u didnt tell me...i'd still prolly be wondering what the heck this guy was doing. A glimse of a fake badge would have helped and mabye a little blood somewhere (all u need is a glimse).

BTW SGpro rocks!

thanks for the comments...actually i think the image is the sharpest ive gotten it so far...i can see a lot of detail..as far as the crime scene...we didint have time for props we just sort of made it up on the day...so its a fake crime scene lol

i can see detail...just a bit 2 soft for my liking though. Yeh i figured it was just a run an gun type thing. how was ur grading done?

deinterlace it and it would come out much better.
it was one of those small things that made me not fall into it.

also yes, i wouldent know it was a crime scene if you didnt mention it

Concerned that if you are shooting with a 100a and winding up with interlacing, that you're seriously confused about a few steps in post / what mode you should be shooting in in the first place.

The point of the DVX is that it gives you true 24 progressive frames per second if you know what mode to shoot in and how to post process it.

You shouldn't have to deinterlace it unless you're shooting sports, or don't want your footage to look like film.

If you wanted it interlaced for some reason, that's cool. If not let me know and I'll walk you through it.

Also, is the image squeezed or am I just imagining that due to the pillar boxing?

well about the whole crime scene, it was just somehting we came up on the day..so im not surprised that you dont really know its a crime scene, we had no props or anything we just said act like your at a crime scene....as for the interlancing...its happenig when i encode the footage using quicktime, this is after i export with adobe...it looks perfect, but once i encode using quicktime thats where the interlacing comes up...i edit on adobe 2.0 shoot in 24pa mode...also the pillar box is dude to the dvx not being 16:9..youtube HD is for 16:9 videos, so when encode using quicktime i set it to 720p, i can make it fit 16:9 but itll strech the picture..any advice how i can get the interlacing out would be great

Great look! I was considering going HD but what for? I'll keep my DVX. I was just getting into your story and it quit. Do some more.
