I did post this in the TimeFest area, but since we're not doing it just for TimeFest, and may not even finish (or shoot) it before the TimeFest deadline I thought I'm posting here as well.
We're looking for various crew members (listed below) for a short film, currently titled "Continuum". It's actually inspired by a feature-length screenplay we're writing. We'll be shooting in the L.A. area or nearby it.
The ultimate goal is for this short to be used as a promo to get investors for the feature. I have an agent that's helping us present this to investors, including various studios and production companies. Any and all crew members would certainly be looked at closely to return for paying positions on the feature production and post-production.
We hope to shoot mid-late May. We're thinking...
May 8-11 or
May 15-18 or
May 22-25 or
May 16-17 and 24-25
However, this could get pushed back until we have the right cast and crew together, as well as the proper locations.
I will personally be directing and editing the film. Although I'd prefer not to, I may also DP if we can't find an appropriate DP. We also possibly have one grip for part of or most of the filming (he's also acting but we don't know what role yet), and possibly a makeup artist. Crew positions definitely available:
An additional Producer: Myself and someone else is executive producing and will do a lot of producing activities, but we need help with additional crew attainment, locations, arranging someone for craft services, additional independent film producing tasks, and to possibly help with casting.
DP: Having your own equipment isn't necessary as I have an HVX200, lights, Steadicam, dolly, a bunch of grip and electrical equipment, and a lot of other stuff. However, shooting with two HVX200's or perhaps a Red One would be awesome.
Production Manager: we have at least one SAG actor (potentially 3 or more) and will need someone who knows how to work with SAG.
Gaffer/Grips: 2-3 would be ideal.
Production Sound Recorder/Mixer: We will want to record directly into the camera. I have a Sennheiser 416, Oktava MK012, boom, and Sound Devices 302 already.

Visual Effects: We have several shots that will require composites on computer screens and three shots that will requires flashes and glowing lights around people and rooms. There's also a slow motion shot of a gun being fired and a bullet traveling through the air.

Rolan Powers: late 30's, early 40's, ex-military
Lewis McGrath: middle-aged male, CEO
David Kester: late 30's male, tough
Engineer: wide age range possibilities, late 20's-40's, male
Technicians #1-#3: wide age range, male or female
2 Officers: late 20's-30's, male
Extras in business casual clothing: preferably 10 or more of various ages, male and female
We will be casting soon, but haven't set a date yet. We already have actors in mind for some of the roles, but are still looking for more potential candidates, SAG or non-SAG.
