Creating a movie poster

oh man, i get so nervous when i see "the pro" has likely responded to my posters in this thread. thanks for the continued advice.

AICN was one of those things... someone who reviewed it, loved IFHY. he knew the guys at AICN and a blurb was published that had wonderful things to say about the films. just one of those things.

here's the poster for White Knuckles, the feature we're debuting this summer. this is also a work in progress.

not surprised you're getting good reviews from high profile places, actually. i've seen the films talked about all over the place. pretty awesome (and prolific) of you - yes, there's jealousy, ha!

as for the "white knuckles" poster, here's my take. both the "heart of now" and "i ****ing hate you" posters have a stylised feel with the heavy orange and an almost organic feel. "white knuckles" has the organic feel, and a nice color scheme with the blue white and black, but i think it needs something unique, say if the image was turned sideways. i really love the silhouetted tree and think it works better in your sig where the branches don't hit the type and almost become a design element.

not sure if that helps. kudos to you guys.

Wow....that's weird. I see it just fine. Sorry about that.

Since obviously my site hosting service isn't going to let me show you my poster, and suggestions?

Are you looking for a critique of the poster?

Nah, just gushing praise. :)

I didn't actually create the poster, it was done by our executive producer. I did add the spiderwebs in the background, but I'm not particularly happy with them and will probably take them out. And I plan to change the image in the upper left corner -- replacing that minor character with one of the other major characters. Otherwise, I like it pretty well.

not bad, one thing they teach in marketing tho, is when making an ad, keep it simple. Make easier to look at. People might only see it for half a second. What do you want them to see?
