Creating "16-bit Videogame" Dialogue

Perfect. In pt 8, you need to convert the bit depth down to 8 bit (I forget the bit choices you have, just makes it lower than the 16 or 24) and then apply a mid-range boost (or lo/hi cut)

One thing to remember: Do the conversion to lower bit rates as the LAST step. Just work on your timeline at whatever resolution, then on export choose the resolution you want, which is 8bit in your case.

So I found a Bitcrusher, and this is what I drafted (sound editor, not picture):

Sounds convincing to me? :cheesy:

Well, it's distorted enough, and probably realistic, but it wasn't very intelligible to me. I'm not quite sure what they were saying! You might want to back off on the effects just a bit to make it clearer -- although this depends on how it fits into the context of the whole piece, of course.
