Create space

I just did post about Createspace awhile ago. "Action Filmmaking" is mine and it's listed through Createspace. What's cool is people are buying my book along with Robert Rodriguez's and Stu's together. I was just reading about Stu and his work on "The Spirit" in the current issue of HDVideo Pro.

That rocks! I've seen this before, but I just noticed it was a Createspace book. Are you going to redo the cover? Make it slick? Maybe I could come up with something for you. Just the front. Although you'd have to get a new proof and all that.

First, I like the service and I just had my second movie listed. Below are a few pros and cons to using Createspace.com.

Pros:
- No outlay of $$$ for inventory to get up and running
- You can focus on making more movies (or writing books) instead of shipping, customer service, etc.
- You can get listed on Amazon.com


Cons:
- You're on your own for marketing. Just because your movie is for sale doesn't mean that people will know about it!
- Movies on DVD-R: there's a .000001% chance that a customer will have a DVD player that won't play these.
- Profit/disc is lower with on-demand duplication vs. bulk ordered DVD's replicated with a glass master (did I get duplication vs. replication backwards?)

Overall, I am very satisfied with the service.

That's great Sean. I took all the classes offered in film :) and graduated with a degree in film produciton. It was a great experience, because they taught us to be all around filmmakers, not just directors, cinematographers, etc.

We had upright moviolas, arri 16S cameras, an eclair npr, a couple of bolexes, a bunch of bell and howells with bent parallax correction turrets -- LOL. I never used those after the first time I took one out and wasted a whole 100 ft roll of B&W film. LOL

Dude, I just pimped your cover. Check your email. Now you can bust out a new edition. All them other guys will be like "Daaaamn, you see Vic's new hotness." LOL. I'm going to play with it some more just to smooth a few things out. :beer:

I was gutted to find create space isn't available in the UK, if i wanna sell any of my films, i have to fill out US tax forms or something. Shame.

Derk my mother is from england Ill probably be over there later this year one of my cousins I suspect will be getting married.
