Crazy Rock Video with ToonIt Plug-In

I just directed this low-budget music video for a crazy band, Fifi Larue, like Kiss-style rockers basically, the full getups and all of that. It was interesting, not really my style, but it was a lot of fun and the video turned out really neat I think. It's the lowest budget music video shoot I've done yet, just basically me and two camera operators, shooting with two HVX200s, stock lenses but we used a wide angle adapter on one camera.

We had almost 30 takes of the song total, which is kind of absurd, and then we cut it together and used the ToonIt plug-in from Red Giant Software to give it the final look, which I felt worked well for the style of music / band.

This export quality is pretty good but not that great, check it out: http://www.orbitalreviews.com/killerclown

Some online site that is launching a new music video section but has pretty decent traffic wants to play the video, so it'll get a bit wider distribution, not bad. It's going to be funny if my lowest budget music video actually has the most views overall, grr. Some people here checked out "Winded," the first video I shot in 2008, that just won Best Music Video at Myrtle Beach International Film Festival and just found out yesterday it got into The International Festival of Cinema and Technology - Los Angeles. I'm not sure if I want to send this video to many festivals, though, not really sure how it would fare. I might throw it out to 10 or so and see what happens.

Very interesting look. I enjoyed the feel you were able to give to the project with this filter. The "Kiss"-style look is just one more reason your treatment of the song works so well. I really like the sound this band has, I would like to see this band live. Do they tour in the upstate New York area.
