crappy dvx100B footage

Just got back from a trip to africa where I shot a lot of safari footage in 24P. Looks great when played back on DVX monitor. However, when I import it into Final cut (ver 4.5) either through my sony dsr-11 deck or the camera, the footage looks somewhat pixelated and overall quality suffers. I took tapes to friends edit bay, where we brought it in SDI and it looks great, even better than I hoped - what gives?!?

If it looks good on one system and not on another, then it is probably the fault of Final Cut's preview monitor or the general calibration of the displays hooked up to Final Cut.

It's probably your "playback" setting is set to "low" or something. Go to user prefs, scroll to playback, what's it at?
