Crane Monitor

I just ordered a KC-Lite to use with my AF100 and am looking for a monitor. In the future I'd like to invest in the 5.6" TV logic but it's not in the budget right now and I am just looking for a quick fix so I can see what I'm shooting with my crane. Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheap but effective monitor? Is there anything out there that will work with my AF100 batteries? I'd love it to have peaking but either than that I just want to be able to see what I'm shooting. B&H seems to have quite a few in the $250-$350 range, does anyone have any experience with these or know if the image fills the screen in while recording? Is that an issue with the AF100 of just with DSLR's?

Thanks!

Check out the monitors from CoolLCD.com. I use the 7 inch ones on my jib and for anything that I just need to see framing and focus.

I see Manhattan monitors are a little less expensive than they use to be, they are excellent for a cheap(er) production monitor.

Not sure if you can get a panny plate for it, but I use sony L batts for all my gear and both these monitors have adapters made by Ikan for it.

I don't own a Lilliput yet but plan on getting one and have done a ton of research. Hard to find a lot of negative, most shooters think they are well worth the money, if you can't afford an expensive monitor. My reservation with that model is the size of the battery- probably only good for two hours or so, with some reporting much shorter life after some use. I really like the slim look of it, but will most likely instead get the model with the external Sony 970 battery, which is fairly cheap and good for several hours.

Have you run across any inexpensive monitors that do have focus assist- as in magnification like the HVX LCD?

Awesome thanks a lot for the feedback! Yeah I think I'll go for the HD2 with 2 batteries... I haven't found anything else at this price point that's comparable. If I don't get it I'll likely regret it later :) This will work with my GH2 as well right?
