CRAFT digital cinema camera?

Thanks for the heads up. Visited the FB page. Kind of bugs me when the maker of a new product that is asking people to take a chance on them can't reply to a single question on the page. Really? Is it that hard to answer if you will be at the NAB show or not?

The best thing about skipping a pre-order is that if you were wrong and the camera does see the light of day, you can always buy one!

Yeah.. I usually don't go for pre-order, but it would be sweet if they can deliver as I'm just not sold on other options.. maybe FS5 with Raw or BM Ursa Mini.. well, we will find out in December.

I put a deposit down very early this year. After not hearing a word, even recently when news releases were planned for the fall, I emailed to cancel my order not sure I would even hear from anyone.

Surprisingly I did hear back, and they said they would process refund within a couple days. That's good news.

I would like to have given them a chance, but business in this era is communication communication communication even if it means missing delivery dates.

Same for Apertus.

Not sure if it was posted in another thread, this was the thread I remember, but anyway:

Update from Craft received yesterday.

Unfortunately, due to multiple constraints Craft Camera will not be manufactured in the foreseeable future. Therefore we will be refunding every preorder. The refunds will be processed in the order they were placed. We will begin issuing refunds in batches starting on February 14th and will continue until February 28th. At that time every order will be refunded. You will be notified via email that your refund has been issued. Please allow 2-3 days for the refund to post.

Thanks for post this Charles.

Last October I asked for my deposit back, without a single update during the year it only seemed their steam engine ran out of steam.

The only thing that sucks for those who are international, is that you will either make or lose money due to exchange rates to the US dollar from the time you placed your $500 USD reservation to the time you get the refund.

In my case, I lost $16 but that's better then the whole $500.
