CPU load when removing extra frames on capture.

I am interested in capturing to a mac laptop in 720 24p or 30p. I need to shoot for hour long periods. When you have FCP capture the true frame rate is it something that could cause a kink by stressing the system for a long period of time by having it remove frames? THe full 60p frame rate is coming down the firewire correct? Is there a way to have the camera send truly 24p out?

If you shoot 720/24pN the camera will send 24P down the firewire...... if you shoot 720/24P it'll send 24P over 60P which would revert back to 24P in a 24P project, it shouldn't cause much stress on the system, but I don't know I've never used a MAC.

Have you gotten this to work in your NLE? I can't get 720pn to capture in FCP. Only when it is in any of the non native modes.

Sorry, LOL, I only know the technology of the camera I've never actually touched one. Somebody that owns the camera should be able to help with the capturing pN stuff.
