Hi all...

Our feature film "Coyote" which ran in over 20 festivals (including LA Film Festival), won a handful of them, and was opening night in 2 of them, is out on DVD! This feature was shot entirely on the HVX+M2 (original, non-encore M2). Shot using 3 4gb cards. This is old school HVX+M2 and it looked great!

Check out the trailer here:

At the link above you can also click on "How to see" to get links to where you can pick it up. For rent we are in Netflix, most all Hollywood Video stores, Movie Galleries stores, Blockbuster Online (some in-store purchase), and a bunch of small video stores (some of the stars have actually been getting recognized in public and getting compliments on the film!)

For purchase you can get it at Amazon.com, Wal-Mart (online and in some stores, possible nationwide push this fall), Target.com, about a million online DVD stores, and other retail locations.

We shot this movie for basically nothing, and thanks to a great camera and RedRock's sweet imaging system it looked great, and we got a great DVD deal with Maya Entertainment, with an advance that got us our money back, and now we have pending cable and foreign deals.

We also just launched a rental site where we are renting out our production equipment that we used on this movie (it's actually better because we have upgraded to the Encore edition of the M2). If you don't know if the M2e will get you the images you want, just rent our rig and try it out. You will be blown away! Plus, we have super low rates to help you make that indie film.

Check out Coyote and let us know what you think. And good luck with all your projects. Go make that movie!

Also, if anyone has any questions regarding the rig, our production, anything... don't hesitate to ask.

This and a couple other forums really helped me out when I was asking questions trying to figure out what equipment to buy, so I'd be more than happy to help out if I can now.

Judging from the trailer, it looks like a very solid film! I'll put it on my netflix queue.

I like your indie spirit of writing, directing, and acting in your own film. Can you divulge how you raised financing, and what the budget was?

Thanks Matt. Hope you like it.

In terms of budget... we are still in negotiations on our cable deal right now, so i can't be real specific. But basically the only people that were paid to make this movie were the background actors (mexican immigrant characters), who were day laborers we hired out in front of the Home Depot. Real small crew. Lots of help for free with backend participation. All the money went toward transpo (getting out to AZ and Mexico and then back again added up) and food (didn't pay the crew, but we had to feed them, and provide beds). Those things added up real quick.

As for financing. It was all personally financed by myself and my business/writing partner Brett (who also acts in the fim).

Wish i could be more specific with you, but don't want to as we are in the middle of getting a deal put together.

Trailer looks great! Off to add it to my Netflix queue...

Edit: make that Blockbuster...Netflix doesn't seem to have it yet...

Hi guys... Netflix actually does have it and it's available now. There is a documentary called "coyote" that was just added that is NOT available yet. Confusing, yes. So if you want to see our Coyote shot with the M2+HVX it is there. We are the one with the DVD cover with two guys in the desert. The one with the photo of a raft is not us.

Right...my mistake. The other title mentioned Mexican border issues in the info section and that stopped me right there. Sorry for the misinfo.
