Cowboys & Aliens

If I saw Olivia Wilde butt-nekkid, I'd have a few reactions but fear wouldn't be one of them...Shoot, I'd risk a couple third degree burns just to get a closer look.

Ha ha... no kidding. Yeah...there would have been that initial frightened moment...but... let me put it this way... it would have been like a moth to a flame. Maybe that's what they were all thinking.

It's not hard for the Indians to believe in a 'spirit' from another place so think that's fine.
Exactly what I was thinking.

If someone has my wife and/or child the last thing I'm going to do is examine a broken spaceship that there's no chance of understanding.

If I think I can ride out to find the ones who took them, that's what I'll do. The movie is called Cowboys & Aliens.
That's what I got.

Fairly late in here as only saw it on DVD recently.

Did I miss the reasoning behind the aliens putting a weapon capable of killing their own kind on Daniel Craigs wrist?
What would motivate a highly inteligent being (well intelligent enough to achieve interplanetary travel) to put a weapon on your preys arm.

Didn't anybody else find this wierd at all?

When I used to fish I kept a knife in my tackle box. I didn't really think the fish were going to use it. Maybe the aliens thought the same way. :)

POTENTIAL SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN.

Did not personally think this movie was all that good. Craig did the best job IMO. As for why he had the alien killer on his wrist... When he was in the alien ship, the alien took the device off his own wrist and placed on a table next to craig. when the alien stuck a probe in craigs torso he reacted and in the process his wrist came down on the open device which then closed on his wrist.

The only benefit to this movie tanking at the BO is that at least we won't be subjected to a zillion "something vs something" riffs from Hollywood now. Those films will be gratefully relegated to SyFy channel status.

Finally got to see this. I enjoyed it! It does what a movie is supposed to do -- it was fun to watch, and I hated for it to end.

Was it perfect? Of course not. There were flaws in the logic of the script. For instance, why would aliens spend so much time and energy studying our 'weaknesses' if we were 'no more than insects' to them? In fact, why study our weaknesses at all? Clearly we can be wiped out pretty easily with their weaponry, or even their bare hands.....or claw-like whatevers. So what's the point?

And in the middle of the nice, quiet, wide open spaces, nobody saw or heard this humongous and noisy ship when it landed and dug its way into the earth???

Still, it was engaging, entertaining, funny in the right places, and all in all a pretty good time. I would watch it again!

Late in watching this ..The critics seemed to have a dislike for it BUT I enjoyed..worth watching for sure

It was an awesome flick. Didn't want to even watch it, just from the title. Once I did, enjoyed it immensely. Jon Favreau is becoming one of my favorite directors. Watch the Special Features, and you'll get a whole different view of the film, its cast and director. Favreau is so damn giving of respect and credit, it's amazing. I'd love to work with him one of these days.
