Your shots seem either out of focus or very heavily compressed. Are the originals like that?

The originals looks really sharp... the dof contrast btwn the subject & background is pretty clean... I did compress the frames even more in Photoshop CS.

I am a beginner trying to learn all I can to get the most out of this camera.

If we were to see the original grabs, I'm sure that would look great.

It's funny, we talk about the methods used to achieve a 'film-look' all the time, but it's only when you see a few simple shots like that does it all come together (24p, cine-gamma, and shallow DOF).

Nice stuff Roman, keep it coming!

Like I mentioned the original look good... for waterver reason the frames I got out of the program were a quarter in size of what you have seen here. I am playing a lot with the camera, and even more when I get my copy of The DVX Book that Barry, Jan and Harry have done.

Did anyone get a copy already?

YEAHHHHH! I just ordered my copy of the DVX Book... I can't wait to put my hands on it... not to mention; to see some progress work by this forum influenced by the book.
