Well I was wondering on how this works.
Lets say I'm at a music video and someone in the crowd hits my camera and it falls and breaks. Does the club insure it? Do I?
How do these things work?
What if someone steals my equipment?
How I'm I protected so I dont walk out with broken equipment?

You should have your owen insurance to cover your tools if you do this as a business. There are also insurance plans you can purchase that are per production as with feature production.

I have production insurance that not only covers my equipment but insures people on my set including hospitalization if someone should become ill or is injured.

Don't count on the club's insurance to cover that. You need to have property and casualty insurance. Pretty much any BOP (business owner's policy) would work for you, but be sure to ask these exact questions (and more) of your agent.

Not only is it unlikely the club's insurance will cover the damage to your gear when someone in the crowd knocks it over, if in the process of it falling and getting broken it falls on someone else and injures them, you're the one who's going to be sued as responsible for the injury, not the club. In other words, CYA in every respect for liability, loss, damage, meteors, rabid monkeys, you-name-it.

It's not unlikely, no insurance company is gonna cover that, period. Personal injury is why they have coverage... not cameras. Your policy is what will cover your gear.
