Courier took lens housing off, can't refit...

I've been a happy DVX AG100b user for three years and never had any hassle. Taken it all over China and Asia. Bought one after falling in love with it watching Iraq in Fragments. Out shooting a micro-budget doc on positive social change in Bali now. A shame that my first post here should be a tech question, and a dumb one at that. I did a search for my problem on Google and this forum, plus dloaded the DVX manual yesterday, didn't help.


DHL are s'posed to be pros but not out in the middle of Indonesia they aren't. They took the apparatus in front of the lens lens off and it won't go back on. So basically I have a bare lens and 4 pieces. I wonder if it's missing a part, but I checked the box a few times.

1) Are there any guides to refitting the cover? Nothing in the manual.


I have loose 4 parts:

- A focus ring.
- A clear filter to protect the lens
- The Leica matte box in two parts.

Basically the entire lens housing unit. Not sure if that's the correct name.


I can put them back together but they won't 'click' together...

Any ideas? I'm sure this has been answered before but I can't find it. I hope to upload my mini-documentary to this forum at some point...

Oh and sorry for the handle too, first thing that came into my mind.

it's broken, the focus ring does not come off unless its disassembled to far. My friend broke her cam once because she didn't tighten the pod down and it fell lens first. The front assembly is only held in with a few plastic tabs. If they snap the whole focus area wont go back on with out major repairs.
