A couple of quick questions:

Lens Check: Should it be turned on every time a Lumix /Olympus lens is attached to the camera or is it unnecessary if I only am using one Lumix lens (14-140)? I turned it off when putting on a Nikkor lens and haven't turned it back on since, even when switching back to the 14-140?

Turning camera off when changing lenses. The manual says to turn off the camera when changing lenses. Is this necessary?
 
I have read here that some people change lenses without turning the power off. What is the downside of doing this? If I don't turn lens check back on when I change from a Nikon to a Lumix lens am I screwing anything up? Doesn't appear to matter in my usage of the camera, but....is that true? Love to know.
