FS7: couple of odyssey 7Q questions

I was looking at the 7Q+ next to a Small HD today and we noticed that the aspect ration of the 7Q seems a little taller -. The small HD looked more like my viewfinder and our 17" Sony monitor. What's up with that? It was subtle hard to tell if it was wrong though as a circle didn't look elongated.. I guess I should measure it and add that to the post later.

Have to admit unlike my original thoughts , the Small HD does look like a slightly better monitor . Color seems closer to our 17" monitors sand a little warmer. Of course its not recorder.

Also more questions:

- Will the 7Q ever be able to do standard Pro Res 422 not just HQ? Some clients like the smaller files & don't need HQ.

- I sure would like to see a brightness control on the monitor . This should be standard on a monitor.

- Will you be adding a vectorscope ( especially one you can zoom in on). Yet another request. This would be very good for the multi viewer.

- Currently when I add a second input via SDI B the picture goes wacky unless its in multi-viewer in which case its just a quadrant. Any way to switch between full size pics on A & B.

- Also could I have large coke and side of fries with that recorder.

The pixels on the Odyssey OLED panel are square and there should be absolutely no difference in aspect ratio.

There are some adjustments for the OLED panel in the OLED menu. There is a rough brightness control called BACKLIGHT (low, medium, high) which is really a misnomer as there is no actual "backlight" with an OLED. The three color gains -- r, g, b -- when used together form a deficit GAIN or BRIGHTNESS control. These controls are being expanded in a future firmware release, where a traditional BRIGHTNESS control will be present. If you wish to adjust the color of the monitor then the individual color channel gains could prove useful to you.

Other forms of Apple ProRes are coming soon.

Vectorscope with magnification is also coming soon.

If you wish to attach multiple inputs and switch between them the Odyssey7Q+ must be in Multi-Stream monitoring mode. In that mode the Lower Tool Bar has buttons for A, B, C, and D inputs. Tap on any of them to show that signal in full screen. Unselect them all and get the quadrant display.

Thanks that answers everything but the mystery of the aspects ratio. I'll test , compare & measure more carefully.
