I just bought a GH-1.
I've been an amateur photographer, but never dealt with video before.
My first vid tests looked very hard with artifacts.
Finally I got a few things sorted, understood how to get better results.
I'm using all manual settings now, in-view histogram, AVCHD 12890x720, 50fps (UK camera), stock 14-140 lens. Shutter speed 100.
The vision is much better, but still very 'video' looking.
To test I'm using iMovie8, which crashes when you try to import (of course), so I'm using the demo version of Xilisoft Standard 6 to grab the footage from the camera.
Should I be using a different/better converter?
What video format should I convert to for working in iMovie or FCEx?
I think I'll pick up Final Cut Express this week by the way.
Is my Intel iMac screen a big compromise when judging picture quality?
It's set to the highest resolution, colour is set to iMac, although I've dabbled with Adobe RGB?
