Coup Poudre

Thanks for taking the time to watch the flick. I hope every one enjoyed it, or at very least wont want to kill me for burning a Bible. I would appreciate any feedback you may have.

I'll have to watch this again & possibly revise my notes for more detail ... I couldn't remember which one was yours until I saw you mentioned the Bible burning ... yep, that stuck with me.

Anyway, seemed to have pretty good production value, a little dark in many of the spots (kind of expected in a cave). I think I had ranked this one a little above average, but again, will have to check my notes for anymore specifics.

I liked the voice over/narrative & overall story.

I ranked yours really low for the whole Bible burning thing. Seemed really unnecessary, I hope you like it hot.

Joe, I did understand the Bible thing, don't worry ! Burning it made perfect sense in the context. I'm always so amazed to see that an average American audience will watch people being eaten alive or killing one another for minutes on end without batting an eyelash, but will be jerked by the burning of a Bible...

First, I'd like to congratulate you on a nice concept and an interesting choice of music.

I must admit I was left a bit confused about the plot. I originally thought the diary was written by someone in the past (say 19th century) - but the clothes worn by camping party were modern.

I'd still have to say nice job.

Let's not get into whether or not burning the bible is cool or not particaulary in a narrative fictional fim , please? It's just a movie.

I gave this a 2

I really just did not enjoy this film at all. The music grated on my last nerve with its dissonant approach, the camera and comps and lack of lighting did not work for me, the voiceover hurt me.................

Look; I can go on and on about how much I did not dig this. But why? I'm sorry. Humbly my .02. Keep shooting if you're serious.

I had intended for the camping party to be from the depression era, while the hiker is modern day. I felt that flannel and jeans would be appropriate for that era.

I don't want to rain on a your already clouded parade, but this didn't work for me at all.

You really need to take a look at some films sit down and make notes on what makes them work, and study up on film techniques. This is the kind of stuff that I made when I first started way back when.

If your serious you'll grow with time. But right now there is alot left to learn.

I had to re-watch this again . I believe you had a good story to do here . I liked the scenes leading up to the cave . This is great going into the cave , the darkness , evil lurking in the shadows then it went too dark for me to see . The witch doctor was also dark but I did see the outline of his face , the white eyes and teeth actually it didn't look too bad could of been better but it had the effect I thought not sure how others saw it . The Bible .HHMM I still don't get that yet . the rest was a little dark for me or maybe it is my screen .
The idea of going into a cave is GREAT!!!!!! A little more lighting ....There is a lot of potential here ,it doesn't have to be a Zombie flick . Something lurking in the SHADOWS , something evil , wicked, mean & nasty . Good luck .

Interlacing was distracting, lighting was nonexistent, story was alright. Next one I'm sure will be better!

I certainly ranked this one higher than a two and didn't feel it was raining on your parade either.

I liked the opening shots and liked the hiking scenes, everything leading up to the cave.

Some shots just just a little too dark to get, but I didn't mind it as much because at least you were trying to tell a story...

I think you should have tightened up the script a bit and added some lighting. Overall, not a bad effort at all. Some good camera work and the acting was better than a lot of the other "hot hot hot" movies.

Nice work!

Robert
