I have all the gear on: camera/monitor, maybe a light, mic...and it makes it all front heavy. Theres the 4 screws on the back of the should pad, but what are you guys using as counter weights ? Batteries/weights ? what gets screwed in back there ?

Looking for some ideas...

I've got a Cavision shoulder mount and I use a 2.5 pound ankle weight. Beileve it or not it works great, just slide it on and tighten it up.

I just bought a weight like that for a light stand, i'll have to try the other one ( came in a two pack) for the shoulder rig.

Was wondering if theres possibilities beyond dead weights.

Despite its age, thought I'd pop in with my experiences. There's an actual weight that Tim shipped me that screws into the back there. Works well enough, though the system on a whole is fairly clumsy and large.

What was its cost?

I don't believe it was more than $10, but don't quote me on that. I purchased it right when the UltraCompact came out.

Give Tim a call - maybe he has more options available,

Thanks! I may order that and the whip without the crank.

I use these:

1/3 of a pound each, but they're on the end of my shoulder mount, just past the shoulderpad, held down by a 2" heavy duty bolt and nut with a washer. I'm currently using 5, which is actually too much counterweight.
