Could use some suggestions....

Hey guys, I'm prepping the final cut of "Celery" for the Cannes film festival (it's due wednesday!) so I'll have that up soon for those interested...
but in the meantime...
I put together a trailer for the thirty minute film. I think it could use some work and as always, your suggestions would be much appreciated.
to watch it,

Just my 2 cents so take it or leave it - it took me a bit to find the menu on the website, so you might lose potential viewers who are impatient. Maybe it's just me, but it wasn't 100% obvious how to get to anything on the site. The Celery graphic in the lower right didn't look obviously "clickable."

Also, the movie looked interesting but didn't really grab me as "oh man, I have to see that." Maybe a little more of the story line would help. I think it needs to tease a little more, maybe showing what the basic conflict or point of the movie is, obviously without giving away the resolution.

Looks good overall, though.

Good luck to you.

I saw the scene in the dinner you posted some time ago and thought it was pretty funny, I liked the dialogue. As for the website/trailer I agree with what has already been said. The button that makes the menu show up is not all that obvious to the casual user (which I'm not, I'll click anything I can get my cursor on :Drogar-Dum(DBG): ) Other than that I liked the website. The trailer feels a little 'flat' I agree on what Chief said. Maybe in the second half of the trailer giving away a little more of what it's about might help. Good Luck in Cannes!

cool website. how does one get into cannes?

With lot of money...

I'm going as part of a group of Student Filmmakers in an event called "Project: Cannes." For those of us who have short films to showcase, they've been kind enough to oblige and set up screenings as part of the festivals Non-Competition section. But, we still have access to all the other screenings adn premiers along with access to the Producers Market. So it'll be pretty sick.

Thanks for all your input so far, I think I'll put something funny on the site like an arrow pointing the the menu button and reads "This is not the "Menu' button."

Did you guys play around with the site and move all the pictures around? It's pretty useless but way cool (I think).

I can also see what a lot of you are saying about how I'm not describing the story in the trailer. It's been a hard task since the movie's plot is so multi-layered and dense with weird ass messages. But maybe I'll take another crack at it after I turn in the final cut tomorrow.

Any other comments would still be appreciated,
thanks.
