Costco has its benefits

Costco sells the 100B for 3495.00 before rebate, so the price is comprible to other places. But the best part is that if you werent happy with it for whatever reason after a period of time. they would refund it no questions asked, no restocking fee etc.
taking it back 2-3 months later after really sizing it up is not an issue.
but then , why would we ever do that...
just thought i would mention this.
costco is the easiest to deal with on returns

dude.....hahaah..i've been known to be a RETURN bastard....back in the day when i had no cash and wanted to shoot stuff.....would always go and buy **** for a day or two(futureshop/london drugs), use it and take it back. When youre broke and trying to shoot stuff for 0 dollars....sometimes u hae to do what u can to get **** done :D

Costco's not an authorized reseller, so you can't guarantee that you would get the rebate. But if you filed for the rebate, and then returned it? That would be low.

That wouldnt be my intention to pocket the rebate.i was just suggesting this as an option if someone wasnt satisfied, this would be their safest option. i would be surprised if panasonic didnt authorize the rebate. costco isnt a flybynite operation like alot of the resellers that do rip you off with prices too low to be legit.
anywhere else you would buy it wouldnt take it back period or they would charge you the "restocking fee" aka money in our pocket for taking your camera back.

That reminds me of the other night. I went shopping with my wife and the store was having a buy one get one free sale. I was thinking, how do they keep people from buying one and getting a free one, then returning the one they bought and keeping the free one?

with or without a receipt...in the the retailer's eyes, you own the purchased item(s) in question at 1/2 price, and would honor a return/exchange of one (of the two) as such.

For years there was a store here in Hawaii called "Liberty House". Quality products. They weren't cheap. But they had a very strong "no questions asked" return policy.

It seems an increasing number of people abused the policy, too, according to friends who worked there.

The company is out of business now.

yes, my dad bought 5 pairs of dockers and got an ipod shuffle for free and they did not fit so he returned them. not a bad man, just the pants didnt fit him hes pretty big haha. i was thinking about maybe taking my camera back to costco because of the new sony with 24p and hdv. the pro version of the fx7. i would like to see what this new camera can do first from others video but no hurry to return it, i can do it whenever i want. i love costco

Not sure about US, but the stores in Australia on buy one get one free sales have a no return policy. Of course defective is different.

I know this has nothing to do with video or anything, but another store that's great with returns is REI. I bought a Therm-a-rest from them, took it on a four-week trip to Mt. Kilimanjaro during which it became punctured several times, and they took it back no questions asked.

Apple is another one. I've had a lot of products damaged (such as when my dog chewed through some monitor cables) and they just replaced all of it, no hassle.
