GH3 correct sequence settings for GH3 footage?

I wasn't sure which forum to post this question in, so I figured it was more relevant to the GH3.

But what should the correct sequence setting be when importing GH3 "mov" footage into Premier Pro CS6 or FCPX???

I ask this because I selected "AVC Intra-100 1080p24" in CS6 for my GH3 1080p24 72Mbps AVC-intra footage but my files show up in the timeline with a red line (requiring rendering). I must have the wrong setting.

Thank you in advance.

Can't you just drop in the MXF file in Adobe Premier and then make a sequence from the clip...

then the settings of the sequence should be set by premier automatically..

Cheers Les

PS.. I don't think the GH3 shoots AVC Intra... I thought that was only for P2 Card cameras like the HPX370

Unfortunately, you aren't mistaken. MXF would have been the much better option, but Panny instead went for the outdated and buggy QuickTime container.

For CS6, just right click a clip and create the sequence.

Sorry I meant just drop in the MTS file... (although I'm still working with the GH2) I'm not sure how things have changed with the GH3..

Cheers

No one has MXF in a DSLR or consumer/prosumer product. Its not a Panasonic choice it is an industry choice. MXF is a pro codec and probably costs a chunk of change to license.

it was just a slip of tongue on my behalf as I've got a HPX300 also... which does shoot MXF on P2 Cards..

MXF is a container format, not a codec. It's part of the SMPTE standard and is used by all DVCPRO and AVC-I cameras. It's also used by several prosumer Sony and Canon cameras, and would have absolutely been the better choice here.

sorry your right it is a container for Mpeg2. No large sensor cameras under $14K (C300) have MXF has a codec is more of what I was leading to and very few small sensor prosumer cameras.

The GH2 is $1300. To expect or hope it has an MXF container is a little unrealistic.

Great file container but not coming to the DSLR market anytime soon.
