Corrado Part II

Hey Adam I think it would be great value to hear the actors talk about why they decided to go with your production. Its obvious that they want work but many actors of this calibre would not do a movie with this size of a budget. I would like to hear them talking about what excited them enough to come on board. It would be insightful to hear their thoughts about the movie. If you have to pay them thats a decision you have to make but I think hearing them would add a lot to the production.

I would not have to pay them to do this. I see either Johnny or Tom at least every other weekend. It's not a big deal. Plus, it's in their contract.

There would be expenses to produce this thing, probably on he order of a couple grand. No biggie.

Chip, my hope for it would be for it to last an hour. I want to make sure if someone ponies up 15 bucks, they get their money's worth.

Thanks Chris!

At this point the BTS DVD is a 50/50. I haven't really seen the interest levels I was hoping for, honestly.

What I was proposing was something really well thought out and special, requiring expenditure and effort on my part. I appreciate all those who posted here and messaged me privately. I'm trying to avoid spending tons of time and a few grand and selling ten DVDs!!!!!!

What I might do is put the offer out on my site as pre-sale deal, where people can buy the DVD at a discounted rate before it goes on sale for real. I'd put a 30 or 45 day window on it where if there weren't enough sales for me to cover my expected costs, I'd simply refund the money once the 30 or 45 days was up.

I hate being cheap (or sounding cheap) but this thing is going to be a hard deal and I need to make sure it sells before investing the time / money.

Well, you're out of pocket quite a bit at this point, but if your cast has it in their contracts, it seems like any and all promotional materials would be good for distribution. I don't know if it will help get the distributor that you want but once you have a distributor they might pay for it if it would help them sell the film on their end.

You'll need to sell probably a thousand plus DVDs to make it worthwhile. Maybe you can do a deal with HDVIDEOPRO and make a promo DVD which they can include with an issue ,and they then buy it from your site.

Put me down for a copy.

This would be creating more than just BTS stuff than is commonly found on DVDs in that it would be longer. I actually don't need it for distribution at this point.

Worthwhile? Probably millions!

I just want to cover my costs on the BTS production. Not to sound crass but all this blogging and even the BTS DVD isn't profitable in the least. I do it because I want to share. I don't expect to make a profit on the thing. If I sold a couple hundred I'd probably cover the cost of doing it.

I posted earlier but forgot to say I'd buy one and maybe two and give one to a friend of mine so I'm in for a couple. If every one gave one away to a friend thats not on the list it might help. This would make a great gift and stocking stuffer. I would do this because I'd love to have it and at this point feel attached enough to help the cause.

Good luck.

you might even consider selling them with an optional donation attached. Zak's got something like that going on "i f*cking hate you." brilliant idea. wish i'd seen that before i bought from indieflix. hopefully he won't mind if you co-opt it.

i'll split them with you . if only.

and, let it be known, i'd be in for a bit more than the "list price," even if it means sending a check for $xx, beyond what the DVD costs.

I appreciate it, Rubbersquare. That's very generous of you.

I should be able to make a decision on the fate of the DVD by week's end.
