Hates to Rent
Alright, HD! go get em'!!!!!
On the Corrado front, not much is new. My existence revolves around:
I've also had my first run in with a baaaaaaad agent. Now I should just use her name, but I don't want to get sued.
Here's the scenario.
I was looking at another fairly well known actor for the role of Salvatore. You don't know his name, but you know his face. He's been in all kinds of movies. Big movies. Best picture movies. You know his face, trust me. Three weeks ago I send his agent the script. She asks me to make an offer. I offer him $2000 per day. That was three weeks ago.
In those three weeks, it's almost impossible to get a callback. When she does respond, She says (take your pick):
Or some variation of the above. Now I know the runaround when I see it. So I give her an ultimatum. I tell her if I don't know anything by Tuesday at 7:00 - I don't want him.
So Tuesday comes, and she sends an e-mail at 4:36pm. She says "He read the script and loves it! He wants to do it! Let's make a deal".
So I get on the horn.
Me: Wow, I'm excited to have him aboard.
Agent: So am I. He loved the story. Sooooo.....how much can you offer?
Silence.
Me: What do you mean - I already offered you $2000 per day.
Agent: Hey, this is XXXXXX we're talking about! He's worth more than that!
Me: Yeah, I know what he's worth, and I can't afford it. Which is why I offered $2000 per day for 11 days.
Agent: OK, so that's $22K. Can you do $50K?
Me: Of course not!
So we continue this absurd negotiation for about 5 more minutes, until she announces she's late to pick up her child from the nanny. She says she'll call me first thing in the morning and we'll resume the convo.
Morning comes and goes and nothing. I have my agent phone her in the afternoon. Nothing.
Thursday comes, my agent calls her 3 times. No response.
Friday comes, I call her twice, my agent twice. Finally I call a third time and she picks up.
And goes on to tell me that the actor cannot do the role. for "a variety of reasons"
Now my Agent happens to know that this agent is a lazy, greedy schemer. We knew that going into the deal. But the fact that she wasted 3 weeks of precious casting time seems........wrong.
And we both knew damn well the actor would've done it in a heartbeat.
Lesson learned: A shitty agent will stop your career in your tracks. Not calling producers back is a big no-no amongst agents.
I'm over it. Onwards and upwards!
On the Corrado front, not much is new. My existence revolves around:
- Finding locations.
- Scouting locations.
- Making offers to location owners.
- Having them tell me that "another production" may want my dates and being put on hold.

- Actor's too busy to read it
- Actor's Auditioning for a pilot, been busy
- Actor's Filming late into the night, hasn't read it
