Corporate Video

Thanks Douglas! Including travel we spent two weeks in Bolivia, three in the US and a couple of days back in Mexico.

Thank you alex. Sure, the production all the way from script to our technical supervision during the presentation at our client's stockholder convention cost around US$40k (this also included still photography for their annual report), plus around US$25~30k worth of travel expenses.

wow, pretty good, you mind if I ask why you choose to use the hvx as your primary cam, not saying anything bad but given a budget like that most projects go for you know... higher end cams stuff like that you know, I love my two hvx's and so do you, end product is beautiful nevertheless

That's a good question.
We shot in 3 countries and more than 15 cities throughout the production, 4 person crew, so size and weight of the gear was a big deal. When you consider size/weight, cost of ownership and image quality, I find the HVX to be one of the best cameras out there.

If I'd rented a higher end cam probably 40-50% of our budget would've been spent on the rental, considering the 5week+ shooting schedule, we spent around 50% of that time on the road or at an airport. Larger camera means larger sticks, more rugged dolly, etc.

This is one of our bigger clients and it's a once a year project, so I'm not sure if investing on a higher-end camera would pay off. Although the EX3 does look tempting, considering the 1/2" chip in a small-camera form factor..but the rolling shutter is what scares me away.

I haven't had the chance to play around with an HPX500, but with HPX170's image quality and increased light sensibility and small form factor, it's hard not to fall in love with the little cam.

I'm rambling now..

Nice work. Any adapters used?
Also do you mind sharing your work process on getting this video on your main page as flash? What program did you use, compressor settings etc.

thanks,

Hello,

No adapters used. For pixelopstudio.com I used Episode and compressed the video to Flash 9. Had to change the .mp4 extension to .flv then used dreamweaver to embed it. I'm out of town shooting for a couple of weeks, I'll post the compression settings as soon as I get back.

Regards,
