Corporate Video Advice for tyro

Learned ladies and gentlemen of the forum,
I need some solid advice. I've done some silly things in the past but since this forum my stupidity has attenuated somewhat.

Here's my conundrum:

PLAN: I'm going to London with my AF100 plus a yet to be purchased GH2, and I'm probably going to be there for a while.
My plan is to shoot corporate video, freelance work, etc just so I can save up £50,000K or so and shoot my sci-fi feature back in LA.

CONCERNS:
I've never done corporate video before and I'm thinking I need a reel of corporate/freelance work. I'm thinking shoot some
free corporate videos here in LA, but in delivering the end product to my faux clients here, (copy for their participation) I'll have to shoot
in 24p. I'll have a reel that I can't necessarily place on a complimentary DVD for prospective PAL clients in London. So here's my little brain wondering - maybe I should
Shoot 24p upload reel to vimeo and then shoot a shorter segment in PAL that I can then duplicate on DVD. Would any of you do that? Or am I being
incredibly unwise again?

Is there a way to make a DVD work in any region? I mean I remember (long time ago) buying DVDs that worked in LA as well as London.

On that note, does anyone have the need for a second shooter on a corporate shoot in Los Angeles? I'll come along for the experience.

Put your reel as a digital video file (.mov or whatever) on an inexpensive USB thumb drive. To heck with DVD's.

Sounds really good, but I'm sure there'll be companies that aren't so sure about sticking a usb into their computer system.

I'm thinking maybe just shoot 24p, reel online then just send out flyers, business cards?

I'm reluctant to suggest this, because I'm very new to this video lark and somewhat in awe of most people on here, but can't you shoot in 24p and render to 25fps for PAL DVD? I'm in PAL land (south London) with a GH2, so this is what I tend to do, but not sure if a US GH2 would make a difference.

Most places in the world can play a PAL or a NTSC DVD (except the U.S)

The "advanced" world has DVD players that are dual standard. They are more rare in the U.S

I always shoot 25 PAL but if I produce a DVD ...its produced in NTSC if it has to go to the U.S.

Shoot PAL if your prime goal and target is display to audiences in the U.K. Produce 2 versions of the DVD if you wish to cover all bases.
