Corporate Fest

Very nice. How much of that did you do, personally? Graphics, V.O. etc.

Looked VERY proffesional, along with your site.

Eric, the video looks really good. The people you made the video for should be very impressed. I had no trouble watching the whole thing through so those who the offers actually apply to will not loose interest.

One thing I think I saw though. When the two woman stand up and shake hands around the middle of the video it happens very quickly but it looks like the woman on the right looks at the camera.

Hey man thanks for the compliments. I actually did most everything. The only thing I did not do was the voice-over and the Honda and Toyota 3D logos at the end. But as far as everything else I was the script writer, producer, dp, director, and editor. I had a couple of friends on the shoot who are basically crew now, they could rig car mounts and strike lights etc. I did everything in Avid xpress pro hd, I outputted matte keys from live type (fcp studio) for the text and got a few .tga sequences from a friend for the animation.

Hey Macintosh thanks for the reply. The company did like the video alot. It was fun trying to make the program interesting. I actually noticed the same clip you mentioned today right before I posted the link. This is not the final version since they made a few changes in the program after I compressed the file, but I am definately going to take your advice and trim that clip about 30 frames before I compress the final final. thanks!

great job eric, I really enjoyed it, very professionally done indeed. As I was reading your website i noticed some of the equipment you all have, very impressive. We shoot with the Varricam all the time, it is a lovely thing isnt it?

Mmmmmm....Another sincere advert I see.Thought that maybe the music to loud in bits also. And where did the guy with the tash come from? I'm sure i seen that dude taking a lady's purse last nite.
I found the titles/graphics particularly dull + cheesy but I know that u got to sell your soul somewhat for corparate bucks.

I do educational/training vids myself so can appreciate the limits of creativity allowed but surely u can push the bounderies a little further here?
Although Im not American either.(U guys take buscuit when it comes to ads).

All this said, Im sure the boardroom will be delighted with another dull + lifeless piece of advertising.

Just read the above and it sounds very harsh dude. Its definately not a personnal attack on you.I just dont like ads/commercials.

Can there be any artistic merit involved with something that is purely made to sell you something?

Checked out the site...wow...nice reel! You guys have worked with all of those artists? props

The varicam is an amazing tool, unfortunately it is too expensive for us to purchase but we did use it on a corporate shoot last year. I am hoping that this website, hvx200 and online videos will bump me up to the next bracket level of productions.

best

hey noonansboy,
no harm / no foul. Sometimes there is so much politics involved I just give the client what they want. I guess I feel it all comes down to who your target audience. If I made it artsy, some VP of human resources at some fortune 500 would get confused and it would wreck his whole day! : ) I'll save that for the film/music videos!

LOL.Cool man.Just checked ur website out.Very beautifull + user friendly.

Im glad to hear ur comments on saving the minds of coporate pricks and keeping urself for the real work.I find so many people today dont and often opt for the easy money option.

Take it easy dude.
