National Lampoon's AV Squad debuted our Studio 54 performance space with an interview and performance with Cori Yarckin. Cori came to the studio and played "La Dee Da" and "Tricks" in addition to talking about her sound and song meanings. Cori also discussed TalentMatch.com.

Performances and interviews were filmed 2-Panasonic DVX100 set to 24p-Normal (F5). The studio was lit with one 1000 watt ARRI fresnel, two 650 watt ARRI fresnels and 1 350+ ARRI fresnel. Sound was recorded with a Senheisser me66/k6 shotgun mic mounted from the lighting grid.

I'm providing a few links. The first shows how everything came together on the program and includes host reads that throw and wrap the segment (host reads are lit with 1 ARRI 600, 2 350+ and 1 100-watt NRG iLight. Audio is recorded with a Sennheisser me66/k6 mounted on a fishpole and the DVX100 is set to 24p-Normal). The second and third links point to individual performances.

Thanks John. Much obligied. I'm real exited to have a studio, now. It beats the run-and-guns I've been dealing with since September.

The only criticism I have here, and its a niggling one, is that I found it a bit distracting that there wasn't some more fill lighting when she tilted her head forward.

Otherwise you've got a good thing going there.

I completed agree. I lit the space for the performance and never moved the lights for the interview. I think in the future I'll use up-lighting to remedy that. Thanks for the constructive comment.

I've been informed that Cori also appeared on AOL "Sessions." Being that I'm not a AOL user can someone who is please type "Cori Yarckin" into their keyword search and watch the video? I'm interested to see how it compares. Please, be honest!

I agree with the other members. Well shot and well assembled. My only little thing that distracted me was the audio. Very "echoy" and just lacking the full umph of the speaker/singer. But, minor detail, sound guys can be picky sometimes. ;)
