Alright guys, if you read my last post, you know that i am currently involved in a dispute with Fuel tv for some footage of mine which they used. Because of this, i am thinking that i should now copyright my videos. I do not have any expierience with copyrights, so i need some input. A lot of the videos i have right now are 10- 15 mintues. I am just worried that someone will pick up some of my uncopyrighted footage and screw me along the way. Thanks for all the input you guys have given, i really appreciate it. Thanks!

In most countries (including the US), a work is copyrighted the moment it is created. Registering your copyrighted work is optional, but certainly helps for lawsuit purposes.

More info here: Copyright.gov

technically, your footage is already copyrighted if you want to take the time to argue it. You can prove you shot it and when. The date is all that needs to be proved, outside of it being your property. Sending a simple letter from an attorney will get this handled out of court as they know they straight up stole it.
You can legally copyright it online for about ten bucks. You can also have your atty handle these one at a time or settile for a retainer fee for anything ya bring him.

Thaks for the info guys! So your saying that a guy couldnt pick up a copy of one of my videos, and use it in his video and claim he did it? How does the whole copyright process works? Could i possibly put say 3 hours of video on one dvd and send that to them copyright office under one copyright? Also, what is the website for copyrights? Thanks again for all the input
