Webcast singer snapped up by Sony

OK so if she had that many listeners why does she need Song/BMG? She'd probably make more money self-distributing.

Oh well. I hope it works out for her. And it is a cool story.

Because Sony will probably give her a lot of money up front and pay expenses. They will take care of all the details. She just has to go shopping

"self-distributing"?

Isn't that impossible on any reasonable level? Maybe it's different for music but there ain't no self-distributing in the film world.

Hows that different from any of the hardcore pro-ams on here? It may not be film but its easily corp production values.

I think the work here (DVXuser) feels more natural, less staged. And even her music has a corporate feel to it. Just my opinion.:)

I just meant distributing her music. Wasn't talking about tv or film.
The point I was trying to make was that that Sony will distribute her music and market and promote for her. But they will also take nearly all the profit. she already had a decent audience.

Don't get me wrong. I'm pleased that this happened for her. I just hope they treat her well.
