A year back I produced short VR 360 corporate video for a client. To be played a trade show, everyone wore a headset to view.

Now, it was a rush job, I purchased a number of various VR clips and a soundtrack from a stock agency, I did the whole thing, the concept, planning, the overlying graphics and edited and produced the entire piece plus audio effects.

Now I have been approached by a specialist agency who wish to demo it as an example of VR work. Can I do this?
It's not a case of trying to sell someone else's clips, I modified these clips with graphics and they are now useless individually, the agency wants the entire video as an example of VR video for commerce.

Your thoughts gentlemen.

The original client probably owns the rights, unless directly stated otherwise. So, you would have to sell the same client the idea of this promo being shown around again. As a part of your pitch, you may have come up with a different introduction to the clip too. Mention the business/endeavor (subtly) again and then some.

Most business people would not scoff at a free PR.

Get permission from the client (unless you already reserved some rights to the project; then perhaps as a courtesy just let them know), and probably carefully read your license from the stock agency (what use/time limits did you agree to?) and if needed get the specialist agency to pay to extend the license, and then work out a reasonable limited license with the specialist agency. All totally doable, and probably NBD as long as your original client is cool with it (and DLD's "free PR" angle is likely to be fruitful).

Cool that they want to promote your work!
