COPYING MINI DV

HEY GUYS. I'VE GOT A SLIGHT 'TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE' SITUATION ON MY HANDS.

WHAT'S THE QUICKEST WAY TO MAKE FULL COPIES OF MINI DV TAPES WITHOUT LOSING QUALITY?

CAN YOU RECOMMEND A PLACE IN NYC?

Far as I know, it's as simple as hooking up two MiniDV cameras with a 4pin-4pin firewire, hitting "play" on one and "record" on the other.

Yeah 2 cameras does the trick, but if you want an identical copy (data track and timecode) the only prosumer camera that can do that is the DVX, or you can use a pro deck to dub them.

Quality wise though, even 2 $400 cameras will give the same picture quality as a $10,000 deck, because you are dubbing lossless digital bits. Just keep an eye on dropouts.
