Hey I got an annoying little issue with OSX 10.9. The AVCHD folder is no longer a folder on the OX, when you click on it it opens all the .MTS files in QT. And it won't let me copy individual files. How do I get around it?

Thanks

Alternatively, I don't recommend stripping the MTS files out of the AVCHD container. Are you using Premiere? If so, just duplicate the whole card to a folder, and you can import the AVCHD file itself into Premiere.

Hi Josh, from time to time I only need a couple of files from a card with like 100 files. I always dump all the content from a card onto the computer to edit a project but there are times when you just wish to pull a few clips from the project (for your demo reel, for instance) some time down the road.

Why, exactly?

There is metadata contained inside which is beneficial. One major reason is If you have a long take that is multiple file and you pull them out of the avchd container and then try to patch them together on a timeline you'll notice frames missing between clips, whereas if you move the whole avchd you don't have that problem.... I don't know the technical reasons, but it sure was scary the first time I tried it.
