Hi! Noob question: I've got SD footage on mini DV tape that I'd like to get on my computer. I do not own a firewire cable and do not want to buy one if I can avoid it, b/c I will always record on P2 cards. What is the best way to get this footage to my computer for editing in Avic Media Composer? Is there a way to copy FROM the mini DV TO the P2 cards (I know I can do reverse)? Or use a USB cable between the HVX200 and my computer?
Inventory of what I have available to use:
* 1 HVX200 Camera
* P2 cards
* PCMCIA slot on my laptop
* USB cable and slots on my laptop
* Assorted video out and serial ports on my laptop, but no video in for capturing
* 1 wheel barrow and holocaust cloak (in the interests of full disclosure)
TIA!
P.S. I've got Barry Green's "The HVX Book" and searched these forums but was unable to find an answer to this, so sorry if it's so noob or answered elsewhere--I tried!
