Cool Videography Jobs

Hey Guys and Gals,

This is my first post, I've got a DVX100B, an Oktava Hyper on order, waiting for the 2nd gen mac book pro to drop to get my editing system up... spent all last year getting my commercial directing reel together (www.sincoff.com- shot on 35mm/HD/DVX), just signed to a couple of production companies but it takes a while to get my name out there, I'm sure you know how cut throat it is.

So here's what I could use some opinions on- what's the gamut of cool videography jobs out there? Not really interested in shooting weddings, bar-mitzvahs and such. Shooting EPK's sounds like fun. Maybe behind-the-scenes videos for film. What else is out there that I'm missing? I've heard legal videography is booming but ugh, talk about boring. Am I being too elitist? How can I get a steady stream of income in with my personal equipment during the hard first years of getting a comercial directing career off the ground?

Thanks y'all!

I know one guy who shoots legal stuff some times and makes over a grand a day for boring stuff and then shoot swimsuit models and female internet "celebrities" at other times. Never has to shoot a wedding and gets to hang out with beautiful women. On top of all that he drives a really nice car and is one of nicer people I've met. He hates the legal stuff, but it buys him really cool toys. He just thinks new G5 and it appears, but all because he does what he has to do to pay the bills and chase the dreams. :)

Great work!
So your a director, but want to earn some money as a videographer, right?
You could of course do corporate movies...

PS the homophobic undertone of the "bigbrothers" spot really sucked.
Alltough I think it is Ok to make jokes about everything, it matters who I´m telling the joke...

Usually shooting depositions for counsel. I've never done so, but I hear that there is some money in it.

I'd fall asleep for sure! For me, the documentary and reality work pays the bills. It's a matter of getting embedded with a few production companies - your reel would likely open enough doors to keep you busy.

I'd have to say music video. You get to be as creative as you want, it isn't as large as an indi film, so it should be quicker and cheaper to shoot.
