cool slow motion

I know going normal speed in one spot of the frame and slow in another is easy but how do they get the slow motion so precise is this a high speed camera or can an xl2 or dvx do this.

They use a high speed camera. You're not going to get slow motion like that out of any normal video camera.

Well, with a little luck you can do something that resembles. If you use a HVX you do 50fps. There are a few very nice interpolation plugins for AfterFX that will the create some pretty good "artificial" slowmotion, which could get you to around maybe 100fps, which I would say is about good enough for that kind of thing. A lot of messing around though.
