Well, we finally got the GH2 and wanted to test in a real production setting. We filmed and edited this, using Sony Vegas 10, in 2 hours. So the work flow with the latest Sony Vegas is superb!

We also wanted to see how the GH2 performs in a setting that is not well lighted. We had one LCD light, but the rest of the kitchen was pretty dark.

Mmmmm. The pie was GOOD!

NOTES:

Canon 28mm FD lens, wide open that's why it was a bit soft
ISO between 640-800

**Thanks to Angelie Gamboa for volunteering as our host***

**Thanks to IndiSystem.com for the rig***

**DP, Editor, Music = Carlo Zanella

Very nice! What's the follow focus you're using?

Thank you! Using the one from IndiSystem.com. It's the IndieFocus Pro. Works pretty well and GREAT price.

Talented host, made the experience even more enjoyable rather than getting in the way of the content.

I liked it overall, but wonder about the white balance choice. I think your selective use of totally out-of-focus shots worked. Were any of those accidental art?

Great video, and I would nominate this as the GH2 dessert video companion to Philip Blooms's "Home Cooking...avec le GH2! " with his mum making chicken dinner ! Was that the 28mm F2 or F2.8 FD lens ?

Lovely video but please don't use that as a guide to making pecan pie - I've never seen a simple process so overcomplicated. Melt the butter in the microwave, mix everything without heating, it's a one bowl dump and stir process.

I searched for years for a recipe that would make a pecan pie like my dear departed dad used to make. When my mom stumbled over a little box of index cards with his recipe included I was thrilled. I made some terrific pies and was very happy to have the secret ... you know what's coming, right? When I finally thought to look at the recipe on the Karo bottle ... word for word the same as my pop's "secret" recipe!! Mom passed along the real secret, which wasn't written on the card - pour a jigger of good bourbon over the pie as soon as it comes out of the oven.

But that video makes me hungry for a GH2.

how it worked. It gets a little bit soft at f2.0, but you can really shoot with little light. The whole segment is shot going back and forth between regular mode and crop mode: GREAT feature of the GH2, it's kinda like working with two lenses at the same time.

The totally out of focus were intentional, but some shots are a little bit out. The whole segment was shot in less than an hour:-)
