Converting Multiple Video Files At Once?

A friend of mine bought a consumer HD camera that records to some sort of card as .mov files. He only has Windows Movie Maker on his computer, but wants to put all the clips together as one. Movie Maker does not recognize the .mov files, so I used quicktime to convert them to .avi and it works fine.

The thing is is that he has tons of .mov files, and quicktime only lets you convert one file at a time as far as I can find.

Anyone know of a program, free or not that expensive that could convert a ton of files one after another? Like Flash Encoder, but makes .avi?

Thanks
Steven

If he's using windows movie maker, he's going to have issues working with anything that isn't AVI or WMV.

The Expression encoder costs $200 and can convert QuickTime files. (assuming the codec is available for PC). There are free solutions, but you better be a compression expert/engineer to do so as they are not very user friendly.

To be honest, He would be better buying Sony Vegas for $100 and editing those QuickTime files natively (assuming they are stored in a QuickTime codec that is available on the PC).
