converting HD Cam to DVC Pro

Hi all,

Has anybody had any experience with converting standard HD cam tapes to DVX pro? Is it possible to go from a HD Cam deck right into the HVX200, or does this need to be done in a specialized facility?

You need to dub from a HDCAM deck to a DVCPROHD deck. The HVX will not accept a HD input. Your best bet is a dub facility. Usually about $50/hr plus tape cost.

depending on your needs - rent a JH3 deck and capture to DVCPRO HD directly with an AJA or BMD card in Final Cut Pro...if that's helpful.
