Converting hacked .mts to .mov files on G5 Mac

Hello,

I've hacked my GH1 using the lpowell reliable patch settings. (Thank you lpowell!) Because I'm still on a G5 Mac, my options for converting the .mts files to .mov files are limited. I've been using VoltaicHD 2.5, which works OK but is very slow. I've used ClipWrap 2.2 on non-hacked .mts files, but it doesn't seem to work on the hacked files. I'm editing the converted files in iMovie 9. (I don't have FCE or FCP.)

Short of purchasing a new Intel-based Mac--which I know I'm going to have to do sometime--are there any other alternatives out there?

Many thanks!

I use Toast 10 to convert my mts to .mov
Kinda slow tho.

Thanks, I didn't know about Toast 10 as an option.

I wonder how slow is "kinda slow." Voltaic took 10 hours to convert to AIC a 15GB .mts file made with a GH1 under the "C" settings.

sorry for teasing, but my plain vanilla mbp w/ i5 had no problem in doing NLE from PP CS5. before that, i used to transcode mts files... it took forever. i tried both mp4 and mts files, and mp4 editing was just slightly faster. im switching to avchd mode.
