Converting from 24p to 25p?

Is that just as easy as converting from 24p to 30p?

I´m going to try to have the DVX bought for me in some store in Detroit. I´m just wondering whether I could just as buy the US version as the Pal one, since I will mostly watch the videos from my computer and projector, but like to have to possibility of switching the videos to pal without noticeble loss in quality.
 
I just went with a PAL model
you must remember that PAL has more lines than NTSC so any conversion will not look so good. I'd say it's worth the extra 500$ for the PAL model.
any way, with the HVX coming out I'm not sure I would buy anything right now

The matter is just that my dad will be in Detroit this week and he is willing to pick a camera up for me and I just don´t think I could find a dealer that sells Pal cams at resonable prices. I live in Europe and the prices here are around 30% higher than in the US.

About the new HD cam, I´m not so sure that the DVX will be outdated. More pixels generally mean worse low light capabilities. People are e.g. still buying the VX2100 even though the FX1 is available for less than $1000 more.
