Converting 5d footage in compressor?

Whats the best method for converting 5d footage to pro res? I see there are different qualities. Is there a tutorial? Ive done a clip in high res and it looked fine. I would really like the best quality method since i would like to enter my film to festivals.

p.s i have searched the forum and found some examples but nothing definitive.

Had the same nonsense problems with FCP7 in a Quad iMac - neither computer nor FCP would recognize my 7D, though Adobe Bridge could see it and download still and video files.

Simple answer was to buy a RocketFish high speed reader at BestBuy ($35, takes both CF and SDHC cards) and bingo - instant Log and Transfer with FCP (using the EOS L&T plugin) . Select which ProRes you want to convert to and off you go!
 
Other than the dual capability with SD and CF cards, is that reader any faster than any other USB2 reader?

Just wondering.

Can't say - it's the only one BestBuy had so I bought it. The main thing is to get the card out of the camera and directly connected to the computer.
