converting 30p footage to 24pA?

I was recently hired to shoot a project completely in 24pA. However, every time I turned my DVX off, it reset the camera to 30p. Occasionally, during the shoot, I would forget for a few minutes to turn settings back to 24pA. So here are my questions:

1) Why does my DVX keep defaulting to 30p (when using F6 scene file) when I turn the power off? Why won't it stay at 24pA?

2) Is there a way to capture all the 30p footage to my computer (using FCP 4.5), convert it to 24pA (using Cinema Tools?), and then output all the new correctly-formatted clips back to tape? (I am trying not to seem absent-minded or incompetent to my employers so that they will never know that I accidentally shot in 30p.) Don't know if this matters, but everything was shot in Squeeze Mode.

Thanks in advance for your help...

1) You must have saved your scene file at 30p and never saved it back to 24pA.

2) That's a question for the FCP boys.

You can use tools like retimer, Magic Bullet, etc to tape 30p to 24, then output as ADVANCED to tape as an NTSC output, The issue will be once you get back to tape as ADVANCED, the flags will no longer be there for downstream recapture into some NLE's. Most of the native NLE's only support the flags for frame removal and will not work with this type of output.

Xpress Pro can capture ADVANCED without flags if needed but that will not help you in this case.
