Convert HD to SD?

I would like to know the simplest and most effective way to convert my footage from 720/25p to SD. The footage is then to be used in Ultra 2 and After Effects, etc.

Currently, I am using Cineform Aspect HD to convert from MXF to AVI.

I've done a small amount of HD to SD converting using Premiere. I've found that the best results (not including saving stills and using Photoshop to resize) are from importing your HD footage into an SD timeline (perhaps the cineform SD custom preset), resizing to fit the frame and exporting. I seemed to get really bad downrez artifacts when exporting SD from an HD timeline. Maybe I need to check the codec settings.

Cineform Intermediate codec is ideal for multigeneration work, so I'd stick with that. If quality is paramount for your keying work, invest in Cineform Prospect HD to get 10 bit support.

It would actually be great if HDLink included downrez to SD.
